چکیده

Enormous demands for recognizing complicated anatomical structures in medical images have been demanded on high quality of medical image such as each pixel expressed by 16-bit depth. Now, most of data hiding algorithms are still applied in 8-bit depth medical images. We proposed a histogram shifting method for image reversible data hiding testing on high bit depth medical images. Among image local block pixels, we exploit the high correlation for smooth surface of anatomical structure in medical images. Thus, we apply a different value for each block of pixels to produce a difference histogram to embed secret bits. During data embedding stage, the image blocks are divided into two categories due to two corresponding embedding strategies. Via an inverse histogram shifting mechanism, the original image will be accurately recovered after the hidden data extraction. Due to requirements of medical images for data hiding, we proposed six criteria: (1) Well-suited for high quality medical images (2) Without salt-and-pepper (3) Applicable to medical image with smooth surface (4) Well-suited sparse

Reversible image hiding scheme using predictive coding and histogram shifting

In this paper, a reversible image hiding scheme based on histogram shifting for medical images is proposed. As we know, the histogram-based reversible data hiding is limited by the hiding capacity, which is influenced by the overhead of position information that has to be embedded in the host image. To solve this problem, the similarity of neighboring pixels in the images was explored by using ...

Reversible and high-capacity data hiding in medical images

In this study, the authors introduce a highly efficient reversible data hiding system. It is based on dividing the image into tiles and shifting the histograms of each image tile between its minimum and maximum frequency. Data are then inserted at the pixel level with the largest frequency to maximise data hiding capacity. It exploits the special properties of medical images, where the histogra...

Optimal Histogram-Pair and Prediction-Error Based Reversible Data Hiding for Medical Images

In recent years, with the development of application research on medical images and medical documents, it is urgent to embed data, such as patient's personal information, diagnostic information and verification information into medical images. Reversible data hiding for medical images is the technique of embedding medical data into medical images. However, most existed schemes of reversible dat...

An Efficient Prediction-and-Shifting Embedding Technique for High Quality Reversible Data Hiding

The embedding capacity of a histogram-based reversible data hiding technique is primarily determined by the peak height of the histogram. Recently, some studies have tried to embed data in the histogram of prediction errors by modifying the error values and have better embedding efficiency. However, these methods offer no selective embedment mechanism to exclude the positions where the modifica...
